Today I was around PJ / One Utama, and a friend recommended an Ipoh-style eatery called 日日升 Yat Yat Seng. One look at the menu and you’ll know — it’s packed with choices: hor fun, dry noodles, curry noodles, white coffee and more.

I went straight for their signature shredded chicken hor fun.

The soup was naturally sweet, the kind that clearly takes time to simmer — not something rushed. The hor fun was smooth, soft but not broken, just the right texture.

And the highlight? The prawns.
Firm meat, big and rich prawn head, full of umami. One bite and the freshness really stands out.

The environment is pleasant, prices are reasonable, and it’s a great spot whether you’re dining with family or friends.
If I’m craving Ipoh flavours again, this place will definitely be on my list.
